Athena Search supports the mining and resources sector through specialist recruitment, site-based exploration support and structured workforce development programs.
Our business operates across three connected service areas: recruitment, exploration field services, and training pathways for Field Assistants and Geological Technicians.
Assist with RC drilling operations including rig set-up, rod handling, cyclone cleaning and rig move support.
Support core recovery including core lifting, marking, orientation, splitting and core transport.
Collect and process drill samples, bagging and tagging in line with project requirements.
Assist geologists with logging support, data collection and general field observations.
Maintain a safe, clean and organised drill site and assist with general labour tasks.
Athena Search Academy is our internal workforce development framework for exploration field personnel. The program is designed to build practical site capability through structured training, supervisor mentoring, competency sign-offs and ongoing feedback.
Learn the basics and build field confidence. Builds confidence in site safety, drill pad support, sample handling, core movement, field communication and basic exploration workflows.
Develop technical skills and capabilities. Develops stronger technical capability across GPS navigation, drill-hole pegging, DGPS coordinate capture, core processing, sample systems and field data management.
Grow into a skilled and valuable team member. Supports geologists with spatial data, mapping outputs, field records, drilling program support, sample workflows and practical exploration coordination.
PPE, site inductions, fatigue awareness, drill rig safety, manual handling, hazard identification and remote-area field conduct.
RC drilling, diamond drilling, exploration drilling, infill drilling, resource conversion drilling and grade control program support.
Sample collection, sample bagging, core handling, metre marking, orientation support, splitting preparation and sample movement.
Garmin GPS navigation, waypoint management, route and track handling, DGPS coordinate capture and drill-hole pegging.
QGIS map production, coordinate reference systems, map projections, data export, field coordinate checks and digital map preparation.
Use of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and QGIS to support field records, project reporting, coordinate tables and basic exploration data management.
Vehicle checks, off-road awareness, route planning, remote-area driving, communications and field access preparation.
Communication, teamwork, reliability, supervisor feedback, field note discipline and continuous improvement.
Athena Search Academy combines practical site exposure with structured learning and documented competency development.
