Location: FIFO ex-Perth
Roster: 2 weeks on / 1 week off
Duration: long-term ongoing work
Start: Early June
Rate: $60 per hour + supperannuation. Up to 11 paid hours per day.
About the role
With an increasing focus on diamond drilling through winter, we are initially looking to bring on 1-2 geologists to support a busy and growing exploration program, with potential for further opportunities in the near future.
This is a high-tempo exploration program with changing priorities and operational demands. Candidates must be adaptable, flexible, and comfortable working in an environment where plans and logistics can change quickly.
The role requires energy, flexibility, initiative, and strong technical fundamentals.
Responsibilities
Diamond core logging
Geological interpretation and sampling
Daily communication with drilling and technical teams
Maintaining accurate and high-quality geological records
Supporting safe and efficient exploration activities onsite
Working closely with geologists, field teams, and contractors
What we’re looking for:
1-2 years of core logging experience
Exposure to gold exploration programs
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Genuine interest in exploration geology and long-term career development
We are also open to speaking with:
Junior geologists with practical core yard or field experience
Geologists who gained hands-on experience as a core technician while completing their geology degree
Candidates with RC experience looking to further develop their core logging capability
This role would suit someone who already has a solid foundation in core logging and understands the fundamentals, while still being eager to continue developing technically and learning from experienced professionals in the field.
Pre-requesite requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related discipline
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
Competency with geological software and data interpretation
Clear communication and ability to work in small, fast-moving teams
First Aid training and 4WD driving experience
Valid Australian driver’s licence (LR licence or forklift ticket advantageous)
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
Current National Police Check (NPC) or willingness to obtain one
Full Australian working rights are essential
